City Slickers

Cities, United States of America

07/03/2003 - 09/08/2003

Unmistakably San Francisco.

America's cities come in all shapes and sizes. Santa Fe and Albuquerque represent the style of early native, Spanish, and Mexican Americans with adobe style buildings throughout the city. Santa Barbara feels like a Spanish Mediterranean seaside town. Chicago is a thriving financial metropolis that is beautiful and clean. San Francisco's Victorian and loft housing interspersed with high-rise offices is one of our favorites. Portland is a mini cross between Seattle and San Francisco at the intersection of two major rivers. Warm, sunny San Diego is constantly redefining its boundaries as a home for businesses, military bases and sailors. We loved visiting them all.

Boats in Chicago, the windy city -- get to play on windy Lake Michigan.

Chicago's mass transportation gates mimic Paris's Montmarte area.

San Francisco satisfies every shopper's need.

The Willamette River runs through the heart of Portland

Portland keeps its small town feel.

Albuquerque reminds us of what a town in the Old West looked like.

Adobe abounds in Santa Fe.

Sweet Home Santa Barbara - aahh, we loved living there for a coupe years.

San Diego's Downwind Marine supplies sailors, including us, with great equipment and service.

The Mt. Lemmon fire filled the sky on our visit to Tucson.

San Francisco's infamous fog creeps down the buildings. Other opportunities to see San Francisco's treats are readily available.
