Hey, there's the HOLLYWOOD sign, oh wait... Never mind.
Another fun, friendly coastal town
The five hour sail from Dana Point to Oceanside was again beautiful, but with an average speed of only four knots, it made for a long day on what was supposed to be a short 20 mile hop.
We put on our new larger 125% genoa (head sail) when we arrived in Oceanside. The 92% working jib was not driving well in the light winds (8 knots). We cleaned the smaller sail and packed it away.
Even though we only spent a few days in Oceanside, we had a great, relaxing time. This will be a quick photo log, because we have waited too long to make this update.

Oceanside pier and surf/swim beaches. The Oceanside long board competition is underway.
We attended a longboard surf competition and went to the movie Blue Crush. The Oceanside Yacht Club was small and friendly. The old military town was cuter than we anticipated it would be.

The Oceanside longboard competition.

Surfs up! Hang ten, dude. Three long boarders compete.
