The Name -- Why "Whisper"?

No clever story here. A long list of potential boat names boiled down to "Whisper". We liked the image "Whisper" invoked and believed it fit both the boat and to a minor extent our personalities. Not that we spend much time whispering, but when we travel, we like to blend-in and not be loud American tourists. We like to go slowly and quietly, to absorb new surroundings or cultures and not be whisked through with a blustering tour group. We prefer to tread lightly wherever we go, taking only pictures, and leaving only footprints (preferably in warm, wet sand). We considered "Viskar" which is Swedish for "Whisper", but the first time we told someone back home, they asked how we'd shave it.

Only later did we stumble across the long list of great boats that have already taken the name Whisper. Subconsciously, maybe we did know?
